October 30, 2008 by weddingblog.
I shot my second TTD with Cindy Wagner of Wagner Photographics on a small farm in Kentucky. Here are a few polaroids I took of the Jen Pritchard (bride).

Super 8mm Sample online
October 30, 2008 by weddingblog.
I hope that this is the beginning of Iconography shooting film on a regular basis. This footage is from The Dayton Art School and the first time I’ve worked with film in about six years. The footage has not been altered in any way.

Wedding at the Phoenix Oct 25, 2008
October 27, 2008 by weddingblog.
I usually don’t post emails on my blog but it was so nice working with Lauren and Jordan. Both the ceremony and reception took place at the Phoenix on Race street. We shoot video and Super 8mm on this gig. The bride wrote the following:
Hi Jason,
Just heading out for the honeymoon, but I wanted to tell you how much I’ve enjoyed meeting and working with you. We had a fantastic time Saturday, and I particularly felt so good about the team I had in place…including you. I really felt like I was in good hands. Btw, after meeting you, Jordan’s family keeps dropping the words ‘Super 8′ as if they know what they are talking about. They were so intrigued by you and your equipment! Funny.
You are hilarious and seemingly a true visionary….I enjoy your company and can not wait to see you work.
Thanks Again.
Lauren

Super 8MM FILM for that vintage look
October 22, 2008 by weddingblog.
Several months back I shot momments of a wedding on Super 8mm film. I was very excited and nervous to see how it would all turn out due to the financial costs of film.
I looked high and low for a film processing lab that I felt I could trust with this project. The lab I chose did a great job and the film got delivered earlier than expected. I am looking at these tiny rolls of film eagerly to begin editing them for the great couple who decided to take on the extras costs associated with film.

TTD-Coming to Iconography
October 21, 2008 by weddingblog.
I shot my first Trash the Dress in Falmouth Kentucky thanks to Cindy Wagner of Wagner Photographics and Maggie (Bride). We all met on land owned by Maggie’s family late in the afternoon.
The first location was an old farm house that hadn’t been lived in for 30 years. The paint was peeling off the walls and dust was in the air.
Maggie’s makeup was perfect thanks to Chenese Bean! She and I worked on the same events over a period of three days and never interacted. In our correspondence via email we booth laughed about the absurdity of running into each three days in a row.
After we finished shooting in the house we went outside to shoot in the fields with the horses. The light at sunset was perfect! We got shots of the warm sun on top of the second highest point in the entire area. The shots looked so good in camera that I joked that the video would almost edit itself.
It might have been an exaggeration, but I’ll let the viewers be the judge when it goes online in November. It will be posted on the website and on YouTube.
The final shots during daylight hours ended up being a spontaneous thing. Maggie (bride) had a bale of hay with a bull’s eye painted on it. Cindy and I got great shots of Maggie showing off her archery skills. The shots speak for themselves.
As the sun began to fall the entourage packed up and traveled north to downtown Cincinnati to conclude the shoot at Fountain Square. Maggie at this point was firing off poses like she was an experienced fashion model. I revolved around the fountain with a Steadicam while Maggie held a pose. Later she splashed in the water as the photographers and I shot in delight.
I felt so honored to be a part of Cindy’s TTD shoot. I am working with another bride in about a week to do another TTD. For the upcoming shoot I am going to push the unusual…
